Please join us Sept 15 for a party in Swalwell Park! We are so grateful to the Lake Country community for their resilience, cooperation and support during the wildfire that affected our area. This is an opportunity to come together and have fun! Come thank and hug a firefighter! 👨‍🚒 They will be there with a number of FireSmart and recruitment materials and handling Firestorm 2023 t-shirt sales (proceeds will go towards the Central Okanagan Fire Relief Fund). As a special treat, we will have two Live in Lake Country performances. 🎵
See you there 😎

As evacuated residents prepare to return home (www.cordemergency.ca), there are several considerations to keep in mind. Please review the ‘Re-entry information booklet’https://www.kelowna.ca/sites/files/1/docs/related/rdco_going_home_information_booklet_aug_23.pdf
Please be aware closures of parks and trails in affected areas will continue, including the Okanagan Centre dog park. Crews will be working in the impacted areas; we ask that you be respectful and remain clear of their activities.
If residents returning home notice hot spots within their areas, please call 911 to report. If you need to make the District aware of any hazards on properties, use the Report a Problem feature on our website https://www.lakecountry.bc.ca/en/local-government/request-for-service.aspx
If you have questions for the District specific to the wildfire, please email [email protected]

As Chief Lee mentioned earlier in the press conference, the best way to show your appreciation for Lake Country Fire Department is through your words and kindness to one another in this stressful time. We welcome any letters/cards for the firefighters at Municipal Hall (10150 Bottom Wood Lake Road) or you can use social media to share your thoughts with . We'll compile all your words into a lovely presentation that we'll share with the firefighters and all of you 🙌
*Please do not send any items to the Fire Hall at this moment.
