Victoria Police warn people to be careful after a man lost $49,999 in a phishing scam.

✔️ Here are some simple steps to avoid falling victim.

📩 Be wary of unsolicited emails, phone calls, or texts from people or organizations you don't know.

🔑 Don't give out personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, and passwords) unless you are sure of the person or organization requesting it.

🖱️ Don't click on suspicious links or attachments in emails, even if they seem to come from a legitimate source.
