USW Local 2009

On Saturday, hundreds of USW 2009 members and their families were treated to a brunch with Santa. Great food, entertainment, education, and the best members in the world.

USW Local 2009 supports the workers locked out at a Delta cement facility. Heidelberg Materials locked out 76 workers at its British Columbia plants in January 2025 due to stalled contract negotiations with two unions: the Teamsters Local 213 and the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local D-277 The disputes center on contract demands for better wages, scheduling, and job security, as well as the company's push to contract out work that was previously done by union members. All USW 2009 members should be aware that if you have cause to visit this plant, there is a legal picket line that should not be crossed. Crossing a legal picket line can have negative consequences.
