Some customers often ask "why does engcon use cylinders for tilt? Don't they just get in the way?" The simple answer is "no." They also offer a lot of other advantages over helical systems including.

🟡 Cylinders have greater power when digging or lifting at any angle that doesn't rely on the excavator's own digging power as in this video.
⚫ Tilt cylinders offer a lower build height compared to alternatives thus increasing breakout force.

⚫ If one cylinder fails you can continue tilting on twin cylinder units.

⚫ Cylinders allow for a safer placement of the valve block preventing crushing / damaging valves.

And the real beauty with engcon is because our EC-Oil system is standard on all twin hitch arrangements with our DC2 controls you can easily drop the tiltrotator off for tasks that don't need a tiltrotator like narrow trenching where having the tiltrotator in the ground doesn't add a huge amount of value.
