However, it’s an exercise that about 95% of people get wrong. The most common mistake people make with their pushups is spread their elbows straight out to their sides. This is a big no-no, because doing like this puts our shoulders at risk of injury.
Ideally, your elbows should form a 45-degree angle, relative to your body. This simple change immediately gives you better leverage to create more pushing force and works more muscles with less stress on your joints.
