Hello my friends!

I had the opportunity a short while ago to celebrate the life of a man who among other admirable qualities; he was a friend to all he met.

A “friend to all he met”. This action of being a friend to all, is an action of love and kindness; both of which we all need in our lives. Especially during this season of giving. Which for many is a hard time.

This season, be kind to one another and while you are being kind - be a friend to all you meet. All you need to do, is smile and say hello.

We don’t know what other people are going through, your smile and a friendly hello may just be what someone needs to hear - to brighten their day.

When we are confronted with the loss of someone special, someone we thought we would be spending the rest of our lives with and growing old together. We need to remember how much that person - Your person - how much they loved and adored you. When you are feeling sad and at times rightfully mad, remember how you laughed together, how you loved together and take that moment to remember how they loved you. In that moment love yourself that same way; knowing that your loved one would be happy to know they did in fact make a difference in someone’s life. For that is one of life’s greatest pleasures; is to know we made a difference.

This is why I chose to be a life celebrant, I celebrate the times - some in the distant, some recent - that were shared, enjoyed and above all else the love. Love is what makes us mourn a death, but it is the love that was shared that keeps the memories alive.

When I walk with a family during one of their worst time, I hold space for them.
