Had a great time at the Pride Flag Raising this week. The speakers were impactful, the dogs were dressed for the occasion, and the cookies were delicious. It was a wonderful celebration of community and Pride. 🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Thank you for the invitation.

Glad to see there has been some compromise on the funding cut to the Alberta Historical Society. This is what continued pressure from the community, including cc'ing your opposition MLA on correspondence, can accomplish.

Thanks to your incredible advocacy efforts this past spring, the provincial government has heard our voices. We have officially received a commitment from Minister Tanya Fir for $133,000 in one-time, transitional funding over the next three fiscal years ($76,000 for 2026-27, $38,000 for 2027-28, and $19,000 for 2028-29).

While this funding steps down over time to guide us toward long-term operational independence, this three-year window gives the Historical Society of Alberta the critical stability needed to protect our core programming.

To our members, chapters, and heritage advocates across Alberta: THANK YOU. Your letters, phone calls, and shared stories made it clear that preserving Alberta’s heritage remains a priority.
