October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Among women in Canada, breast cancer is the most common cancer (excluding non-melanoma skin cancers) and the second leading cause of death from cancer. It’s estimated that in 2022:

➡️ 28,600 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This represents 25% of all new cancer cases in women in 2022.
➡️ 5,500 Canadian women will die from breast cancer. This represents 14% of all cancer deaths in women in 2022.

Breast cancer touches the lives of so many families every day. That’s why we’re committed to championing world-leading outcomes in breast cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and support – this month and every month.
