Important Update from the QX Board of Directors

Over the past three years, QX has grown from a small group of passionate community members creating safe and affirming spaces into an organization operating a community centre (QXCC) and hub that served more than 1,500 people last year. We're incredibly proud of what we've built together.

With that growth, we recognize the importance of strengthening the systems, processes, and supports that sustain this work. To ensure QX can continue serving our community for years to come, we'll be taking a short-term pause on some programming over the coming months while we focus on:

• Strengthening internal systems and processes
• Evaluating and clarifying program priorities
• Ensuring volunteers and facilitators feel supported and set up for success
• Taking a thoughtful look at how we use the QXCC space

This is not a shutdown. We're still here, and most partner-led programs and community events will continue. This pause is an intentional investment in QX's future. As a volunteer-run organization, this pause will also provide an opportunity for our volunteers and Board to take a well-deserved break and recharge while many wonderful Pride events and programs continue to be offered by community partners across the region.

We'll continue sharing programming updates as plans evolve, and our monthly calendars will continue to be released so you can stay connected to what's happening at QX. We also have some exciting news to share at the end of July that we can't wait to tell you about!

As we enter this pause, we encourage everyone to enjoy the many wonderful Pride events and celebrations happening across our region. Whether you're choosing to march in a parade, protest, dance the night away, attend your first Pride event, or spend extra time with chosen family, we wish you a Pride season that is safe, joyful, and filled with the community and belonging you deserve. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
