Stress doesn't just live in your mind — it shows up in your body, your habits, and the stories you tell yourself about what's happening. 🧠

CBT gives us tools to interrupt that cycle before it takes over. Here are 4 to try:

Get curious about why your stress feels elevated right now. Name your triggers and trace where they're actually coming from — awareness is always the first step.

Check in with your body. How is stress showing up physically? Is there an unmet need underneath it — rest, connection, safety — that could bring your nervous system back down?

Schedule something small and enjoyable. Stress pulls us toward withdrawal. Even one achievable, feel-good activity in your day can break that cycle and rebuild a sense of accomplishment.

Breathe intentionally. Box breathing and slow abdominal breathing are simple ways to manually override your stress response and clear the mental fog — no equipment required.

These aren't quick fixes — they're practices. And the more you return to them, the more natural they become. 🌿

Taking some intentional time away from the therapy chair — and the inbox. 🌿

The office will be closed July 1–6 while I rest, recharge, and do a little living. I'll be back to regular hours on July 7 and will return all emails, phone messages, and texts then.

Many people assume that suppression is regulation.

In fact, the opposite is true!

Regulation means labelling feelings, sensations, emotions, triggers, and experiences and feeling it fully.

When we feel our feelings and express our needs, finding balance is more natural, less overwhelming and more easily accessible.

It's my birthday!

31 felt like the right time to stop and actually say it out loud. The lessons I've collected, the roles I've grown into, the parts of myself I've had to unlearn and relearn.

Being a mom, a therapist, a business owner, a partner — none of it comes with a manual, and I've made peace with that.

This year I'm choosing intention over hustle, depth over reach, and rest without guilt. If any of this resonates with you, I hope it feels like permission to do the same.
