Remember when I first started photography and swore up and down I would NEVER shoot a wedding? Ha. Funny girl 💁🏻‍♀️. Especially as I’m about to walk into a double header weekend and shooting a wedding on my birthday (tomorrow) 😂

The best engagement sessions don’t feel like a photoshoot. They feel like the two of you, doing what you love.

Instead of jumping straight in front of the camera, we started our evening at T H E O F F Y in DISTRICT 1881 . A cozy little drink, lots of laughter, and just enough time to shake off those “what do we do with our hands?” nerves 😂 side note: you touch each other constantly 💁🏻‍♀️

From there, we wandered through the charming streets of District 1881, recreating the same kind of atmosphere where their story first began. The flirty glances, the easy conversations, the butterflies... it all came so naturally because this session was built around them.

That’s exactly how I believe engagement photography should be. Your session shouldn’t be about stiff poses or checking boxes. It should capture your personalities, your connection, and the little moments you’ll want to remember years from now.

The baby bump before the baby - something that deserves to be documented 💛

This maternity session at the beautiful Spirea Trail in Maple Ridge had all the things a good dog adventure should have: sticks, snacks, and a very excited four legged sibling who was absolutely pumped to be part of the photos 🐾

Happy tails wags and two people counting down the days until they meet the newest member of their family. These are the moments worth remembering ☺️

Maple Ridge is packed with beautiful spaces and we were lucky enough to have it pretty much to ourselves (another reason why I HIGHLY encourage weeknight sessions, hint hint 🫣😉)
