Our Story

Kidsfirst is a licensed multiage centre run by a mother/daughter team in Maple Ridge, BC.

About the team:
Sue, the mum of the duo, owns the centre and has been working with children for over 30 years. She has her Early Childhood Education certificate and is working on getting her Infant Toddler certificate. Sue has a love of art, literature and music. You’ll often see her reading new stories to the children or singing songs with them. She also supplies the children with a variety of art mediums for them to use in their creative endeavors.

Tylere, Sue's daughter, has been working at Kidsfirst since it opened in 2005 and as of January 2019 now has her Early Childhood Education certificate. Tylere loves active play and the outdoors and can often be found guiding the children through a yoga routine or outside puddle jumping with them. She also enjoys developing curriculum based on the children’s interests and documenting their learning in a variety of ways.

Both team members are in the centre working with the children and their families daily and have up to date emergency first aid training.
