Our Westside Barbell Hyperextension is here! Your way to bulletproofing your posterior chain! (Lower back, glutes, and hamstrings)
Follow these steps to perform the movement! Start with no weight or minimum weight to get the hang of it! You don't need much weight! It's a hard exercise! Most people will be using under a plate a side to start!
Step 1: Put 1 foot in the ankle strap and the other on the step up.
Step 2: Push your torso onto the pad and grab the pair of handles that feel comfortable (2 sets of handles)
Step 3: Put the other leg into the strap as well or can keep 1 leg in and perform with just one.
Step 4: Have your legs and hips off the bench pad and just your torso on it.
Step 5: Swing your legs straight to a minimum of 180 degrees and control the movement up and down.
