A huge thank you to No Frills for their continued partnership and generosity towards Friends In Need Food Bank Society. πŸ’œ

Through their recent support, they donated $1,500 in gift cards along with essential hygiene products to help support individuals and families across Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows experiencing food insecurity.

Hygiene products are some of the most requested but least donated essentials, and support like this helps fill an important gap for many households.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners like No Frills who continue to stand beside us and help strengthen food support services in our community. Thank you for helping us make a difference, one family at a time. πŸ’š

A sincere thank you to the Geraldine and Kenneth Burnett Fund for their generous investment in Friends In Need Food Bank Society and the people we serve.

Thanks to their support, we will be able to replace one of our essential delivery vehicles used throughout Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. This vehicle plays a critical role in our operations, helping us recover, transport, and distribute nutritious food to individuals, families, seniors, schools, and community partners across our region.

The Geraldine and Kenneth Burnett Fund’s commitment to strengthening communities and supporting organizations that create meaningful impact will help us continue serving our neighbours with dignity, compassion, and care. Check out their commitment via websiteπŸ’œ

From all of us at Friends In Need Food Bank, thank you for helping keep our wheels turning and food moving throughout our community. πŸ’œπŸš

Today is a great day to support local families in need. πŸ’œ

According to new national data shared by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, nearly 1 in 4 Canadians are experiencing food insecurity β€” including approximately 2.4 million children across the country.

Behind these numbers are real people: families trying to keep food on the table, seniors stretching fixed incomes, and individuals navigating rising housing and grocery costs.

Here in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, Friends In Need Food Bank Society continues to see increasing demand for food support each week. Community donations, volunteers, and local partnerships help ensure fresh food and essential groceries remain available to neighbours when they need them most.
Food banks are more than food β€” they are community, compassion, and people helping people. 🫢🍎
