Supporting Families and Educating Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
POSITION PROFILE:
- Provide individual intervention using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis to clients, on site, in schools and or in client homes as appropriate
- Maintain written records(i.e.- communication books)
- Data collection—monitor the client’s progress through detailed data collection
- Flexible with methods of teaching
- Adaptable to individual client needs and program
- Ability to work up to 8 hours daily Monday through Friday between 8am and 6pm. (Some Saturday sessions as well)
- Participate in weekly/ monthly team meetings
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
- Degree/Diploma in a related field (i.e.- psychology, social work, early childhood education, child development, Bachelor of Education)
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Current Police Check (Vulnerable Sector)
EXPERIENCE AND ASSETS:
- The Ontario College Graduate Certificate Autism and Behavioural Science
- CPI training
- 1+ years’ of Clinical experience
- Good verbal and written communication
- Extensive knowledge of ABA and VB teaching methodologies
- Strong team work skills in the area of creative problem solving, motivating and mentoring
- Vested interest in the field of Autism and dedicated to personal professional development
- Advanced interpersonal relationship skills
