But if you have PVC (Vinyl) windows chances are you've got problems. And what does that actually mean to you the home owner?

Dollars & sense straight out the window (pardon the pun).

Understand that a window's function is to be more than just a hole in the wall. It should really be an extension of it.

Imagine if there WAS a hole in your wall and all formats of the elements was entering your home. It would be a near crisis concern of high importance & urgency.

Your windows should be ONLY allowing light into the house. And not moisture, drafts, heat or cold.

Ultimately, have faulty non efficient windows means high heating & cooling bills and/or an uncomfortable living environment.

Most GTA home owners are seeing a 30%-40% loss of efficiency. That means for every $100 hydro/gas bill you are paying an additional $30-$40.

That's going to add up over the years of home ownership and the cost of doing nothing averages about $7200 for most Torontonians over 10 years.

If you've been pushing off that window replacement project, there's no better time than now to address it. The government of Ontario is issuing a Greener Home Rebate for up to $5000 on your windows project.

And we're making things even easier with a 10% discount for following our page.

HomeOwners Guide to Retrofit Windows

What are Retrofit Windows?

Retrofitting a window involves replacing the glass. The window frame inside the stucco stays, then new glass and an energy-efficient window is installed. This process is referred to as retrofitting because you are taking a new window and placing it into an older window frame. The process can be done without damaging the home's stucco, drywall or paint.
In some cases, the frame may have to be repaired and may cause difficulty if it is not plumb to the wall. This process is an excellent choice for individuals who don’t wish to remove the window frames.

Advantages of Retrofit Windows
A retrofit window is quick and easy to install. If no large repairs are required to the window frame, this kind of replacement can save you money. The process of retrofitting windows saves the window frame. If you live in an older home, this can be key to retaining the value of your home.
With a window retrofit, you won’t have to repair any damage to the outside of your house. There are no changes to the placement and size of the window. Any original materials will not have to be refurbished or replaced either.

How to Apply for a Government Grant
Up to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners make energy efficient retrofits to their homes, such as better insulation. EnerGuide evaluations (worth up to $600) and expert advice to homeowners so they can begin to plan their retrofits. Participants are eligible for up to $5,600 total under the initiative. Updates will be provided over the life of the initiative to keep homeowners informed.
