This week, York University's Islamophobia Hub published an important pilot study on the working conditions of Muslims in Canada.

Delving deeply into the state of "Working while Muslim" in Canada, the report shows and analyzes wage gaps, levels of poverty, and unemployment gaps between Muslims in Canada vs. the larger population.

This is an important snapshot into the state of labour not just for Muslims in Canada, but with respect to the entire country during a time of economic uncertainty and rapid technological change.

This weekend, we reach the fifth anniversary of the London terror attack that killed four members of the same Muslim family on the streets of London, ON.

It is a time for remembrance, but also active reflections and renewed commitment.

Violent Islamophobia is on the rise in Canada. We know what it looks like. We know what it can do. On this fifth anniversary of the loss of Our London Family, let us recommit to building a plan that meets this challenge.

It is time to face violent Islamophobia in all its forms. It is time for real action.

We are disturbed and shocked by the targeting and damaging of a school bus in Hamilton, ON that serviced an Islamic school in the area.

It is alleged that someone may have targeted the school bus in a parking lot full of school buses, vandalized it with Islamophobic graffiti, and damaged the bus including shredding bus seats.

We are in touch with the school, community members, and all authorities, including the Hamilton Police, regarding the situation.

The targeting of a school bus that services Muslim children during a time of rising Islamophobic violence is alarming to the highest degree. While we cannot confirm the motivation behind this attack at this time, and we will wait until the police have a final determination, it is extremely concerning.

We call on all leaders to denounce what happened, and to work with community members to stem this tide of Islamophobia.

“I REMEMBER WHITE QUEBEC”

The Second Sons are an explicitly white nationalist group that wants to “accelerate” societal collapse in favour of a race war.

They are dangerous and pose a real threat to various communities across Canada.

That they are active in Quebec, where an Islamophobic mass shooting happened less than a decade ago, and have alleged involvement in the recent racist and illegal gathering in Shawinigan, is extremely concerning.

It is time for Canada to list the Second Sons as a banned terrorism group.
