DID YOU KNOW: our snowplows go undercover in the summer?🕵️
You may not recognize them without their plow blades, but our snowplows can be found working year round!
At the end of the winter season, trucks are washed throughly to make sure all salt is completely removed. After the equipment is clean, we go over the whole unit, making repairs, replacing parts and repainting if necessary. Then, the truck is safetied and rust-proofed.
From there, some units are used by the Maintenance team for summer operations like sweeping and shoulder repairs. Other units may be retrofitted with other attachments, then used by other Miller divisions for their operations.
By the time every truck in the fleet has been checked, it's time for another winter season!
No fancy soundtrack here, just real construction noise from a real jobsite in downtown North Bay. 🔊🚧
Meet Nicholas. He started with us at 18 as a labourer and flagger, and then went on to become the leadhand. And some seasons later, he's running the show as foreperson. And he still loves coming to work every day, running the equipment and sharing his knowledge with newer team members.

Miller employees were on hand last month to unload hundreds of donated bikes as part of our longstanding Ride Smart Program partnership with Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service. The bikes were donated by Starlight Canada. Thanks to Cooper Equipment Rentals who donated their forklift. They will be kept in storage containers supplied by Miller until they are distributed to deserving members of the community.
The Ride Smart program, led by New Hope Bikes engages youth across the province and teaches cycling skills and bike safety. Miller is proud to support this program.
