What goes into building a ground sign for a home development site?

Step 1: Find out what size is permitted in the area.

Step 2: Do a site visit

Step 3: Designing and engineering signs specifications and getting locates done for any underground services.

Step 4: Get some large posts (10” x 10” x 26’) they are around 700lbs each.

Step 5: Excavate post holes (24” diameter but 72” deep).

Step 6: Call the city/township to get your holes inspected.

Step 7: Get the posts in the holes and brace them in place. (This takes some heavy lifting).

Step 8: Do calculations and find out how much concrete is needed and call the concrete supplier.

Step 9: Get the holes filled with concrete and let that set.

Step 10: strap the post with lumber. Remember to keep space and line up for the seem of the plywood.

Step 11: Put your sign panels on. Materials may vary here depending on your design.

Step 12: Call for final inspection

After these steps have been taken the sign is complete! These 12 steps sure sound quick and easy but once the artwork and approval by the city are completed it takes days to coordinate with services, the current weather conditions, and not to forget the physical effort to ensure a project like this goes safely and gets finished on time.
