Spending hours on your phone or computer? Your eyes may be working overtime! About two-thirds of people experience digital eye strain symptoms. Here are some tips to protect your eyes from digital fatigue!
1. ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ 20-20-20 ๐ฅ๐๐น๐ฒ. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
2. ๐ข๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐. Adjust your screen brightness to match your environment. Increasing text size and contrast can also reduce eye strain.
3. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐น๐๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐๐ถ๐น๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด. Blue light filtering glasses or screen settings may help reduce the amount of high-energy visible (HEV) blue light reaching your eyes, particularly during evening screen use.
4. ๐จ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ถ๐ณ ๐ก๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฑ. If you experience dry eyes, consult your optometrist about using lubricating eye drops to maintain moisture and comfort during screen use.
5. ๐ง๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ธ๐. In addition to the 20-20-20 rule, take longer breaks every hour by stepping away from screens altogether.
