Canada’s “goodest” boys and girls - the beloved pets bringing joy to Canadians from coast-to-coast are being honoured with our new green initiative: Trees for Pet Heroes.

Trees for Pet Heroes builds on a successful pilot project from last October, when Royal Canin and planted 97 trees at the Guelph Humane Society, creating shade, privacy, and an expanded canopy for dogs to enjoy while exercising. That project has inspired a nationwide rollout, with trees to be planted in parks, at animal shelters, and other places pets live, woof, and play. When a donation is made, the donor will be able to select a location and add their pet’s name to the respective Trees for Pet Heroes page across the country.

It's a natural expansion of , Trees for Life's program that plants trees in honour of the heroes who enrich our lives. These heroes may include first responders, front-line and healthcare workers, neighbours, coaches, the military and loved ones. After all, a hero is in the eye of the beholder!

Community organizations, corporations and town councils with available parkland or greenspace can partner with Trees for Life to plant a Pet Hero forest in communities across Canada 🐈 🐕 🌳
