Clear Start Home Inspections

Consider hiring a home inspector, even if the house is only a year old. Builders will typically have a home owner warranty (2-5-10) in place. If it never gets noticed, it's out of your pocket down the road.

Here is a furnace I opened up a few months back. Only a year old and already showing a moderate amount of rust! High efficiency furnaces are expected to last 25 years, but under these conditions it is not likely. Fortunately, the cost falls on the builder and not my clients. Not to mention the additional list of deficiencies that require some attention.

Homeowner info - Retaining wall: If taller then 2 feet, it needs fall protection such as a fence. When over 4 feet, it needs to be properly engineered. This is why you may see staggered retaining walls. Staggered retaining walls should be separated by 4 feet. Summer projects done right 👍
