I love foods that evoke familiarity and a sense of nostalgia yet pack a surprise in that familiar package. These dates stuffed with goat cheese, orange and nuts do just that with hint of spice from Aleppo chilli flakes. Recipe:
- Toast some 10-12 walnut halves at 350 for around 8 minutes and once cooked chop roughly
- In a food processor or by hand with a whisk, mix together goat cheese, zest from 1 clementine/orange, squeeze juice from 1/2 clementine, 1 tbspn honey and a teaspoon of olive oil
- Remove pits from dates and stuff with the cheese mixture. Top each one with Aleppo chilli flakes if you have (milder) or with black pepper. Top with chopped pistachio and pomegranate seeds photo credit

I dare you not to drool. This semifreddo (Italian ice cream that hasn’t been churned) is flavoured with orange blossom and honey and stuffed with a baklava filling of walnuts, pistachio and spices. Bye bye Thank you and .wigley for this fantastic recipe
