Many of my clients come in presenting with pain + tightness in their calves, as well as plantar fasciitis (a condition characterized by pain at the heel and arch of the foot)

They key ingredients they are missing are
1. Stretching the Soleus muscle (lower calf), which is done with a bent knee
2. Performing self-massage
3. Applications of cold during acute stages with increased inflammation. (Under 20 minutes, as vasodilation will occur after this and bring more fluid to the area).

I personally use this protocol as a preventative measure, at least once a week. I’ve seen so much progress in my clients’ pain when they started to utilize these tools.
