Today Matthew and I went on a classic Montreal food mission… and stopped at one of the most legendary bagel spots in the city — Fairmount Bagel.
This place has been doing bagels the old-school way forever —
hand-rolled, honey water boiled, then baked in a real wood-fired oven.
And you can taste the difference instantly.
We tried their blueberry bagel and WOW.
Warm.
Slightly crispy outside.
Soft + chewy inside.
Little bursts of sweet blueberry in every bite.
It’s low-key like eating dessert for breakfast 😂
Honestly… no toppings needed.
Just grab it fresh out the oven and eat it while walking around Mile End.
Simple. Cheap. Perfect.
That’s what I love about Montreal —
some of the best food costs only a few dollars and feels 10x better than fancy spots.
Good bagel.
Good friend.
Good day.
Sometimes that’s all you need.

Today Matthew and I went on another little Montreal food hunt… and we might’ve found one of the most underrated dumpling spots in the city.
We stopped by Sammi & Soupe Dumpling — a small, low-key place that specializes in freshly made juicy soup dumplings.
And when I say juicy…
I mean JUICY.
Like:
bite → boom → soup explosion 😳
Hot broth inside
super tender meat
soft chewy wrapper
crazy flavor
Every dumpling felt like a mini flavor bomb.
No lie… we were both reaching for the same last dumpling and almost had a full-on goofy food fight over it 😂
That’s how you know it’s good.
This is the kind of place:

✔ affordable
✔ made fresh
✔ locals love it
No fancy hype — just real comfort food done right.

Today Matthew and I found one of the cutest cafés we’ve EVER seen… and I’m not exaggerating.
It literally feels like walking into an anime.
We visited Muru Crêpe Café — a super cozy Totoro + anime-themed café tucked away in Montreal… and EVERYTHING inside is adorable.
Not just decorations…
I’m talking:
✨ Totoro figures everywhere
✨ Anime walls + art
✨ Coffee foam drawings
✨ Cute character food designs
✨ Dessert plates that look too pretty to eat
Even the coffee has little anime paintings on top 😭☕
Like… how do you drink something that cute??
We tried their drinks + crêpes and honestly it felt more like a fun experience than just eating food.
Sweet, cozy, chill vibes.
Perfect for hanging with friends, dates, or just feeling like a kid again.

Today Matthew and I stopped by one of the most iconic cafés in Montreal — and accidentally found one of my new favorite drinks ever.
We checked out Café Olimpico in Mile End — this super cool old-school Italian café that’s been around forever.
It’s got that retro, chill, neighborhood vibe… like you stepped into the 1970s.
But the real star?
👉 Café Crème (coffee + ice cream mix)
Yeah… coffee blended with creamy ice cream.
Cold.
Sweet.
Smooth.
Crazy delicious.
And here’s the wild part…
I’m not even a coffee drinker 😅
But THIS? I’d get again 100%.
It tastes more like a dessert milkshake than coffee.
Perfect for summer walks around Montreal.

Today Matthew and I discovered something kinda crazy…
Biking around Montreal is actually faster than taking a car.
No traffic.
No parking stress.
Just smooth bike paths, fresh air, and nonstop views.
Montreal is LOWKEY one of the most bike-friendly cities in North America.
Wide lanes, protected paths, safe roads — it honestly feels like the city was built for cyclists.
We spent the day cruising through the Old Port, riding along the water, cutting through parks, and just exploring wherever the path took us.
Way more freedom. Way more fun.
And the coolest part?
We got to ride on the actual Formula 1 track at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Yeah… the same track the pros race on turns into a giant bike course when there’s no race.
So regular people like us can just hop on and ride laps like we’re in the Grand Prix
No special skills needed.
No crazy gear.
Anyone can do it.
Just two bikes, good vibes, and a whole city to explore.
Honestly…
This might be the most fun + cheapest + healthiest way to experience Montreal.
If you’re visiting the city, skip the Uber.
Rent a bike. Trust me.
