Today’s Awareness Sunday : Riding in the rain 🌧️

Let’s be real, this season here has been tough so far. The weather hasn’t been anywhere near as great as it should be, and we started the season super late. And because of that, the temptation to get as much seat time as possible is real. We’re all starving to ride, and sometimes that means choosing to ride in the rain just to get out there.

Riding in the rain isn’t the safest thing, but it doesn’t have to be a cause of stress either, u just need to adjust your riding.
If you’re out there in the drizzle, remember to:
Adapt your speed: Give yourself a massive buffer zone. Traction drops, and your stopping distance easily doubles.
Keep it upright: Try to keep the bike as upright as possible. Minimize your lean angles, especially over slick painted lines, tar snakes, or metal grates.
Smooth out your inputs: No sudden braking or aggressive throttle chops. Progressive, smooth movements are your best friend when the asphalt is wet.
BUT not all riding conditions are good.
There is a massive difference between a wet road and a dangerous environment. Heavy rain hides hazards. You dont see our lovely potholes, hydroplaning risks are high on too of possible flooding or overwhelmed storm drains.
That is exactly where you are supposed to draw the line for your own safety. If you can’t see the asphalt beneath the water, or if the downpour is compromising your visibility, it’s time to pull over. Even more if you’re riding with a dark visor 🤨
Chasing seat time is never worth risking your bike, or your life. Respect the elements, know your limits, and live to ride another day.

On todays episode of Awareness Sunday : Supplements 🤨

First of all… YOU CANT SUPPLEMENT A POOR DIET
Supplements are meant to do exactly what their name says: supplement your lifestyle, not replace it.

Whole foods come first because your body absorbs vitamins and minerals much more efficiently from actual food than from a synthetic pill or powder. BUT no amount of powders can undo the effects of chronic sleep deprivation, high stress, a lack of basic nutrition or other bad habits you might have.

It is easy to lose yourself in all the powders, oils, pills and other products which is why i highly recommend you do your research before trying something new (and that goes for everything actually🤣)

The baseline is simple : enough proteins to limit muscle breakdown (which starts at 30 btw!), carbohydrates to give you enough energy, enough fat to regulate your hormones.

ALSOOOOOOOOOOO since we all love our energy drinks, an energy drink can be a useful, situational tool when you need a quick performance spike before a workout or if you need to be alert for a few hours BUT REMEMBER caffeine stays in your body for 5-7h in general, so be mindful of when you take it 🤨

PS : i recommend you to do regular blood works to check for deficiencies 🫶🏼
