"Ma plus grande fierté c'est d'avoir élevé mon fils autiste jusqu'à ses 30 ans. Il est autiste non verbal, élever un enfant comme ça c'est mettre sa vie de côté. Il ne sait pas prendre son bain, il ne connait pas le danger, etc. Comme il ne sait pas s'exprimer, qu'il ne sait pas dire 'J'ai mal', il peut devenir agressif aussi, alors on mange des coups. Les autistes ne sont pas affectueux, ou en tous cas ne le démontrent pas : ça aussi c'est difficile, parce-que je n'ai que lui comme enfant. Et les conjoints ont du mal à accepter un enfant comme ça, parce-que je passe beaucoup de temps à m'occuper de lui. Aujourd'hui il a 36 ans, il est dans une superbe résidence pas loin de chez moi. J'en parle avec légèreté parce-que si j'en parle avec tristesse je vais être tout le temps triste. Mais j'ai trouvé ça tough."

"My biggest pride is to have raised my autistic son until he turned 30. He's nonverbal. Raising such a child means putting your life on the side. He can't wash himself, he doesn't know danger, etc. Since he can't express himself, he can't say 'I'm hurt', he gets agressive too, so you get punched. Autistic people are not affectionate, or at least they don't demonstrate affection: that's difficult too, because he's my only child. Boyfriends have a hard time dealing with a child like that, because I spend a lot fo time taking care of him. Now he's 36, and he's in a beautiful residency close to my place. I speak about it lightly because if I talked about it sadly I would always be sad. But it was tough on me."
