Anna Botticini’s practice explores tension, instinct, and the human condition through small-scale works in charcoal on raw fabric. Her pieces often hold a sense of unease and intensity, using simple materials to create something emotionally charged and visually direct.

work begins in a kind of hostile desert, where the human being must constantly learn to understand the world, others, and the self. Her pieces live in the tension between control and instinct, between the rules of civil society and the impulses that remain hidden but never disappear.
She creates small-scale works in charcoal on raw fabric that feel intimate yet unsettled, inviting close looking without offering easy answers.
