My very good friend Paul (one of the first people I ever did stunt fighting with!) is putting together a one-man show for this summer’s Fringe festival, and he’s looking for a fight partner to join him in the show (so I guess it’s more like a one-and-a-half-man show). I can personally vouch for his professionalism and skill, as I’ve worked with him on many shows in the past.

Here are some details, in his words: 

“I’m thinking one comedic, short (30-60 seconds) fight scene, one on one. I wanna work with more than one person, to have an understudy, (or two!), to not require a single performer to be available for 10 weekend evenings in a two week period. I’d be happy to pay an honorarium of sorts, but we’re talking like 10 or 20 bucks per show, and I wouldn’t be able to pay for rehearsal. This whole thing is happening on a shoestring. I’m looking for people who would basically be willing to do it for the fun of it. And it will be lots of fun. And I know what I’m doing. And I have colleagues, like my esteemed friend Shawn Baichoo, a veteran industry professional, Who would be likely happy to help out. I’m some capacity.”

Hello Fightcorers!

It's been a while, I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. The pandemic sadly put an end to my workshops for nearly two years, but with summer being here and the restrictions around gatherings starting to loosen, I thought it might be a good time to gauge interest in new workshops.

I'm thinking of holding a week-end intensive (either over 1 or 2 week-ends) sometime in the near future, the nature of which would depend on who's interested. It could be an introductory course, or more advanced techniques (or straight choreography) if enough people with the right prerequisites are available.

Hey everyone!

Just thought I'd touch base to get an idea if there's still any interest in stage combat. Between the pandemic and me moving out of town last month (I'm on the North shore now), teaching hasn't really been an option. But with summer on the way and hopefully a reduction in necessary COVID safety precautions soon, I'm considering taking it up again. So just chime in if you think that's something you'd like to continue and I'll gauge the response and maybe set something up accordingly. Stay safe and talk soon! 👊
