A seamless collaboration with the homeowners and The Wood Shed helped bring this fireplace feature to life!

Having the wider 7-inch shiplap with a 9-foot ceiling is a great way to go! We wanted the tile to be proportionate to the bump out and the space as a whole while also meeting the fireplace clearances. The slate-like tile brought in an earthy texture element. Finished with a simple wood storage/entertainment cabinet kept things open, functional and practical! 👍

Plus, the fire screen is a must to keep those kiddos' paws off! 🚫👐

A simple, bright and timeless subway tile backsplash.

We ran the tile from countertop to crown, setting it apart from the rest of the open-concept kitchen/dining/living room. Adjacent to this slide-in range area we had the same beautiful 4x12 tile. It features several floating shelves in place of the uppers. This gives the space openness and cohesiveness with the other wood finishes in the home!
