Three things that no one tells you about a large age gap
We're a blended family with a 20 year old, a 13 year old, and a 6 year old - 7 years between each of the kids. Fun fact- my husband and I are also 7 years apart. Everyone talks about how sad they are for us that our kids won't grow up as "friends," but here's what I actually learned
1. All of my friends who have kids with a small age gap (4 years apart or less) tell me about the non-stop fights, both physical and verbal.... that has never been my experience. Actually, they have always been able to care for one another in ways that friends and parents haven't been able to.
2. They do grow apart during the teen years, and it's really hard... but eventually, they come back together in a way that feels so mature and based on mutual respect. It's different, but it's beautiful.
3. They get the best of you at every stage. When you're not making multiple bottles and changing multiple diapers at once, you get to make each moment a one on one experience for them. First loves happen at different times, hormone changes happen at different times, driving lessons happen at different times. You get so much more one on one time. Your relationship with each one develops on a more individual basis.
Would we have chosen this age gap in the beginning? I don't think so, and just like any age gap (or not, for moms of multiples), there are cons to a large age gap... but knowing what I know now, I would choose a 5+ age gap every single time.

and a super hot take for my ADHD girlies (and boys too, but I'm a girls girl around here)
I can't help but deep dive into science. I know no one likes the ding dang science, but your girl is a nerd π€ k? K.
The science is evolving, but something that so far seems like it can't be argued is that people with ADHD have a different microbiome composition, we seem to NATURALLY have more bad bacteria rather than good ones, which is evident from our lack of regularity (either too much or not enough, if you know what I mean), our Heartburn (I literally used to sleep on a recliner to stop the acids from burning my eye balls), and our mood swings (absolutely no bonus content needed for that one, but I love patterns)
I literally will not gate keep, so I've included the prices at the end of my rant for Canada and the USA... if you're elsewhere, please comment where you're from, and I'll send pricing.
If you have adhd and you'd like some symptom relief without meds or if you're on meds and you'd like that little boost of support, may I suggest a hugh quality probiotic?
It's a great starting point for symptom relief and I'm more than happy to give you my full adhd supplement regiment, all you have to do is ask π€«

Introducing peptides β¨οΈ I have no idea why it took me so long to figure this out.
So, while rhode didn't really make me want to repurchase it, I didn't toss it in the trash. It was good. It just wasn't what I was hoping for.
Until about 3 weeks ago, when I grabbed my milk toner and applied it after my cleanse but before my retinol and all of the sudden β¨οΈπ© glazed donut skin. So I finished it off with the barrier repair moisturizer and my sleep mask and went to bed feeling 25 again.
(OK, you're right, I never stopped feeling 25- even though my mirror likes to fight me on this one)
I woke up still looking extra dewy and delicious.
So I decided that I must have been dreaming that rhode "wasn't that good" until I decided to skip retinol one night and again, it was just flat... it wasn't it.
Then. It. Freaking. Hit. Me. (If you have adhd you probably already know what I'm going to say because you're a master problem solver)
My freaking retinol isn't actually *just* retinol at all. It's peptides with a retinoic acid and Rhode is filled with other peptides!!
I was creating a peptide sandwich on my skin and my "maturing" π΅ skin was LOVING it.
So. Why did hailey choose peptides for her skincare line? Why are derms RAVING about peptides in skincare? Why is my new retinol SO different? Here's why ππ»
1. Boosts Collagen Production: Peptides help stimulate collagen production, which keeps skin firm, smooth, and youthful-looking, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Enhances Skin Barrier: Peptides strengthen the skin's protective barrier, helping it retain moisture and stay resilient against environmental damage.
3. Improves Skin Texture: They promote skin repair and regeneration, leading to smoother, more even skin texture.
So ladies (and gentlemen) over 25 who are starting to feel like they have day old donut skin like me, let me put you on to my peptide regiment!
Comment peptide for a link or head to the shopmy in my bio to get all of my faves.

Raise your hand if you've ever been personally victimized by a retinol product ππΌββοΈ
Honestly, the HORROR stories I'm hearing and seeing from retinol use are absolutely devastating. So many people getting online prescriptions for a retinol strength their skin couldn't handle or being sold something at a spa without ANY direction or follow-up care.
But even for the people (like me) who were told by the manufacturer that the "retinol uglies" aka purging was temporary and that your skin would be absolutely glowing afterward, and so they just. kept. going..... only to find out that their skin was just too sensitive for it.
I'd pretty much given up hope until I found a drugstore retinol product so gentle that started to really change my skin.... enough that I was so happy and was singing its praises to anyone who would listen.
Then I ran out, and I did the most adhd Cait thing in the world and would go to buy more, but leave the drugstore with a new lipstick that I'll never wear and no retinol because...... πΏ
My friend recommended a retinol product and preached about how different it was, and honestly, I wasn't really listening... I ordered it and used it and holy βΎοΈπβ½οΈ (balls..... holy balls) it changed even freaking thing.
Take a look at the last picture to see my journey from using prescription retinol at 0.025% for 8 weeks to the Neutrogena one that I thought I loved after a year of use to the 4 week progress on my new retinol in it's active state + Peptides. I could cry.
If you were born in the 1900s - it is time.
Please reach out for other before and afters and more information about how you can get this product for WAY cheaper than the leading brands and lock in the intro price for 6 months!
