We’re one of 500 Living Wage Employers in BC. The living wage is the hourly rate a worker needs to earn to cover the basic expenses of living. It’s not about luxury, it’s about ensuring they can afford essentials like food, housing, transportation, and child care. It is calculated using a basic budget that does not include paying off debt, savings for the future or the cost of caring for a loved one, therefore it should be a bare minimum rather than a gold standard.

The living wage in Metro Vancouver is now $27.85 an hour, about $10 higher than BC’s minimum wage. Many workers who earn less than the living wage are having to work multiple jobs or cut back on essentials, just to survive.
