Bronte Collision

I think this has to be the best picture taken of the 33.. love the layout too..

Charlie Haviland was known to, on occasion, " test" the
AA/Altered on our concession road in front of the home farm.
One particular Sunday morning in about 1968, Dad had the Charley Horse at a shop south of Boston Ontario, getting some welding work done. Rather than load up the car on the trailer to bring it back home, Dad asked his friend/shop owner, if he could drive our truck with the push bumper and push Dad in the Altered back to the farm. While rolling through the village of Boston, we could feel the push truck lug down for a short period, then Dad hit the mag switch and the Charley Horse came to life for about 4 or 5 seconds, right in front of the church that was holding it's morning service! Dad knew that some of his area friends were in church at the time.
Apparently, there was some hearty discussion outside the church after service.
(The main concern was the rattling of the 100+ year old stained glass widows. No damage reported though).
Evidence on the road out front, remained for a few weeks.
Even though I was only 8 years old, I remember that morning, like it was last Sunday!
