Are your service pages invisible to Google?

I started a new project this week that broke my heart a little. The client came to me confused. Their site looked fantastic, but the phone wasn't ringing.

I ran a quick audit and was surprised to find that the site had no XML sitemap and no robots file. Even worse, their service area pages were not even indexed. I felt terrible telling them their previous designer missed the most basic step.

Having your service in your name helps. But be careful, don't spam it. If your legal name is "Smith Associates," don't change it to "Best Lawyer in Oshawa." Google will suspend you. But if your legitimate name includes your service, itโ€™s a huge advantage.
