•Why body scan meditation is worth trying

Researchers have found evidence to suggest meditation can improve physical and emotional wellbeing in various areas of our lives, such as: improved sleep, anxiety and stress relief, greater self-awareness, increased self-compassion and reduced pain.

•If you are new to body scan meditation:

It can take some time to get used to meditation, and that’s completely normal.

It is okay if you get distracted. Be kind to yourself if you notice your mind is drifting away from the meditation.

It’s more helpful to start with one simple goal: learning more about what your body has to say.

GOOD GRIEF • This phrase almost seems contradictory. Grief tends to come off as negative because of its association with tragic or sad experiences. Whether we are grieving a loss of loved one, a job, or a memory, we are experiencing our lives now without what we are grieving. Good grief in my opinion, is a term that sums up our experience of grieving. A large component of grieving is the rush of emotions and memories associated with the person or thing we have lost. These emotions can be happiness, sadness, anger, content, and so many more. This creates the idea that in order to process a loss, you must allow yourself to process all of the emotions. Grief is not something you can fully understand until you experience it yourself. Once you experience grief, you understand it is important and necessary to process any loss. Allow yourself to grieve, it will only help alleviate the pain accompanied by loss. •

Hi everyone! First off I would like to thank you all for following this page. I have been cautiously thinking about how and what I will post.

I thought I would start off by introducing myself. My name is Daniele and I am a recent graduate from Saint Paul University. I completed an MA in Counselling and Spirituality and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). My goal for this page is to offer educational pieces from a psychotherapist’s perspective. I hope this page will foster a collaborative space for you as the follower and myself as the content creator. I would like to hear from you and what you would like to see on this page so I can make it individualistic!
