From the Ground Up

Like many family businesses, ours began as something else. Peter Mulrooney - founder, creator & first ass-kicker - began business ownership with Curbex Canada, a concrete curb manufacturing/installation company. Peter broadened his scope and bought a paving business (Beatty Paving Ltd.), building roads while building his reputation as a fiercely creative, honest businessman. In the late 1970s he opened Mulrooney Landscap Design & Construction, taking his talents to the decks, patios and yards of countless homeowners and businesses in the national capital region. Finally, in the early 1980s he incorporated Geosynthetic Systems and began what has now become the region’s most experienced experts in soil management solutions. Nearly 40 years later, his two daughters have taken the reins and run with the business, bringing a fresh, new approach to the family business and taking it to the next level. And here we are!
