📄 New social innovation narrative!
What if community safety efforts were designed with people who use drugs, rather than for them?
A recently published social innovation narrative by Tabitha Morris, Jamie Muckle, and Rob Boyd highlights Ottawa Inner City Health's Block Leader Program, a peer-led initiative that brings together people with lived and living experience, local organizations, businesses, and community members to support a safer and more connected downtown.
The narrative shares how peer-led approaches can strengthen community well-being, build relationships, connect people to supports, and create meaningful opportunities for those who are often excluded from traditional employment.
