Women have always been part of mining communities. They work, lead, organize, trade, support families, and sustain local economies. Yet their contributions often go unrecognized, and many continue to face barriers that limit their access to opportunities and influence.

On this International Day of Women in Mining, we celebrate the women whose resilience, knowledge, and determination help shape mining communities every day. Through our work, we have seen women driving change in their communities, advocating for safer working conditions, building businesses, supporting responsible mining practices, and creating opportunities for future generations.

When women have greater access to opportunities, resources, and decision-making spaces, the benefits extend far beyond mining sites. Families, communities, and local economies are stronger as a result. Today, we recognize the achievements of women in mining and stand with those continuing to push for a more inclusive sector.
