Skate Sharpening 101: Quality

Let’s walk you through a skate sharpening here at the shop. We start by inspecting the skates we are going to sharpen. Did we sharpen them last? Yes? Okay, how sharp are they. No? Are they square? Yes? Great, how sharp are they? No? How sharp(ish) are they? Let the sharpening begin!

We let our skate sharpening speak for itself. Square edges. Glossy polish. “It’s only a little off” doesn’t exhist here. When we sharpen skates, we use the best tools available on the market. Skate sharpeners, machinist squares, sharpening stones, hone stones etc. Butterfly gauges shown in our Reels and Stories are used as visual aids because they can in certain instances show a better picture of our work. That does not make them more precise than our machinist squares for giving you proper edge’s.
