On behalf of the Eco Running Squad for this year’s Tamarack Race Weekend, and the EcoEquitable team in general, we are sending a heartfelt 💜THANK YOU💜 to every one who donated, shared our fundraiser and supported us throughout the journey.
With 50+ donations, and a collective 147 kilometres ran by Tabatha, Julia, Alana, Leigh-Elle, Matt and Camila (through the rain mind you), we raised over $3300.
Their motivation? Our Sewing for Jobs students and alumni who have persevered to upgrade their professional and personal capabilities despite the barriers that they face. Our alumni especially have cumulatively completed over 100 paid contracts in the community all while earning an income for themselves. Some have gone on to find employment in their interest field or launched their own business.
In the words of one alum: “After 13 years being at home, I’ve come out of my brain freeze. I thought ‘I am not able to do something,’ but I was wrong. I can still learn and grow.”
This wouldn’t have been possible without you, Eco Family. We’re grateful for all the support💜
