🥇🌿✈️

This design was installed at the St.John's International Airport last August for the 2025 Canada Games that came to our beautiful province this past summer. It blends Mi'kmaq hieroglyphics and Indigenous arts, with symbols inspired by Newfoundland's landscapes; from mountains on the West Coast, to caribou tracks and cod fish. Shaped in a circle, it also reflects the cycles of life, the equality we share in ceremony, and the way everything, and everyone moves together.

You may have also seen this design in a circular format that was printed on reusable tote bags during the games (can be seen in a previous post too!)

I'm still beyond thankful and honored to have had the opportunity to represent and showcase my Indigenous culture along with my Newfoundland heritage on such a national scale. Be sure to check it out next time you're passing through the airport.
