Action Orthotics & Prosthetics

Today we fit this lovely young lady with her new bilateral ankle foot orthoses (AFO'S), and Shriners helped cover the cost of the new easy zipper access Nike Fly Ease runners!

On Friday, the day of the school's Terry Fox run,I gave a talk/presentation to my son's Grade 4 class on the field of prosthetics, how we make them, how they increase mobility, and the struggles faced by amputees like Terry. I built two bent knee prosthetic legs for the kids to try walking on. Hoping to give them a better appreciation for what an amputee feels learning to walk again. The ILimb myoelectric hand I brought in to showcase where technology has gone was also a clear hit! Thank you Ossur for the loan of the demo hand!
