Some of you may not realize this, but the original name for Frank Zappa's Band was "The Mothers". The record company didn't want to back a group of scruffy men with long hair and beards etc ..So Frank made a compromised deal, and came up with The Mothers of Invention ". I actually prefer Mothers of Invention, but it wasn't his first choice.
My favourite Norm MacDonald quote - just after being fired from SNL's 'Weekend Update ' - " I mean uh, If someone doesn't like you, and they own the joint... well that's fine " It reminds me of getting dumped by a disgruntled Girlfriend.
