Our Story
Durham Region Writing Rainbow (DRWR) brings LGBTQ youth together to build community through a shared love of writing. We have a drop-in writing group once a week where we can connect and create in a supportive peer-led space. We also make zines, host events to perform and celebrate our stories, do writing workshops, and have guest speakers.
Join us at the Pickering Public Library on Saturdays from 2 pm to 4 pm!
DRWR is possible thanks to the amazing energy of the youth who make up the group. We love you weirdos.
The use of the space is graciously donated by our community partner, the Pickering Public Library. We are also former grantees of a Youth Opportunities Fund grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and former mentees of the AIDS Committee of Durham Region.
