Wishing everyone a grounded, cozy, joy-filled Autumn Equinox 💛🍂🌻

These everlastings are inspired by the joy I get from sunflowers and my love for strawflowers! Strawflowers are like mini sunflowers in so many ways.. so I wanted to create like ‘stems’ using foraged birch twigs.. and they turned out so cute! 😉

I picked this peony almost a week ago and as it sat in the vase unchanged, I thought - ahwell.. I must have picked it too soon and now it won’t bloom…

Today is the two year anniversary of our shop SCANDISKIN opening in Bloomfield - and when I came downstairs this morning, I looked over at my little peony and saw it had in fact ‘bloomed’. I knew then that was a sign from my spirit guides to move forward on this path I have been contemplating. 💭🌱

So here it is..

On Wednesday, June 21st 2023 (the Summer Solstice) we will be reopening our doors not as SCANDISKIN, but as Bloom.💛

We will continue to carry our Nordic skincare for the time being on our SCANDISKIN wall in our shop as well as focus on all things hyggelig - but now I have the opportunity to share my rich passion/love for nature + all things beautiful with our community. I know now it’s the RIGHT thing to do.

I have had to make some hard decisions to gently pivot our business as we adapt to the changing market and though we have a new name, we will continue to offer much of the same types of books, accessories, gifts and home goods our customers love.

I am eager to bring on some new items that I believe align with Bloom’s spirit (such as)
- children’s nature books + stories
- botanical art pieces
- dried flora bouquets, wreaths, buntings, etc all foraged and made here in Bloomfield.
- local natural beauty + skin products
- more teas and (potentially) a tea bar
- locally crafted indigenous art + accessories
- small nature themed art pieces
- unique upcycled and vintage items

I’m planning to host workshops teaching moss art, bracelet making, dried botanical arranging as well as some one-on-one spiritual healing sessions.

I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have my own little shop in the village I live and have made a life in. Connecting with my customers and sharing our stories has been unbelievably special to me.. so thank you thank you THANK YOU to all of you for supporting us this far. I really hope you continue to support us as we transform into Bloom. x💕
