Valve job on a Tecumseh HMSK100 today.

It was leaking big-time, so we cut the seats with a carbide cutter, resurfaced the valves and then lapped them in. Finish off with a new head gasket and she'll be good to go.

These crimpable universal Z fittings are exactly what I needed to repair a broken Z bend on a cable that costs over $50 Canadian to replace on a Briggs and Stratton snowblower. This cable operates the chute deflector.

Due to how the Z fits into the lever, the universal Z fittings that have screws to hold the cable would not fit, as they would likely interfere.

I carefully ground off the old Z end fitting, to expose the inner wire, then used a pair of Klein 3005CR ratcheting crimpers to crimp it. For added strength, I used a small torch to heat the fitting, and applied some solder, which seeped into the Z fitting. Only time will tell how long it lasts, but the original cable is on backorder, so this fix will do for now.
