Some news to share.

Picked Collective has been a beautiful journey, a shop that I have poured my heart into, that I have loved the opportunity to be a part of, that I am grateful for.

It’s also been a struggle to keep this wee shop afloat. I think I have known for a while this is maybe what I need to do, but since it isn’t an easy decision, it needed to settle. To allow my heart to be ready to let go.

May will be the last month for Picked Collective.

I now find relief and joy in what I picture my time being filled with instead of Picked. I now get to leave this space to be filled with many other beautiful things.

I am incredibly grateful to makers, local and near, that have entrusted their goods to me. I have been so proud and honoured to stock your wares.

I am incredibly grateful to you who choose to shop small and support local. To you who have supported this shop for its time. Faithful friends and browsers and shoppers. Thank you!

I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of the shared space in Ecossentials Local Market, to my fellow shopkeepers and neighbouring shops.

I’m excited that some of the goods you have come to love within Picked Collective will still be found in .

Keep your eyes open in the following weeks for many sales, many changes, new things to come within!

Happy International Women’s Day.

As I start my day, I feel in awe of women in my world. Every face before me so far this morning. From school drop off to preschool drop off to opening up the shop to quickly messaging a friend, and my sister, waving at gramma at the end of the driveway, full of love for us.

Seeing other moms, other shopkeepers, all the women, and feeling in awe and amazed by all they do. They have a sick little one at home, they are going to volunteer in their daughters class, they are stopping at the grocery store before work, they are starting a generous new giving program in their store, they are teaching our children, they are sitting with their daughter laughing together before heading out the door to help many in the role of a physician. They are chasing after dreams and fulfilling responsibilities and walking with courage and living with love. They are incredible women doing incredible things!

And now I look at my shop, at all the makers within, the women local to qathet or nearby. I’m proud to stock your wares. I support you. I look to my neighbours and surrounding small shops. I’m proud of you. I look to women in all professions, I’m amazed by you. I look at many moms, I am inspired by you.
