Happy Mother’s Day from VOLTA!

We’re very happy to celebrate and show appreciation for all mothers around the world. For this special occasion, we brought to life a sketch from our newest mom at the studio, Vanessa, with the amazing touch of our Art Director, Sara.

Fun fact: did you know baby pigeons are called squabs? And they’re actually yellow… just like your favorite art studio ⚡

Our team had the chance to team up with our sister studio at Waste Creative to work on a few Key Art for Clash of Clans !

Starting from detailed briefs from Supercell , we explored a range of sketches for the them to review. From there, we refined the selected direction all the way to a final render that you can now find in-game and in this post.

Big thanks to Waste Creative for bringing us along on this one, and to Supercell for the opportunity and trust. It was a pleasure working on such an iconic IP!

Happy International Women’s Day from everyone at VOLTA!

To celebrate the occasion, several of our talented women artists came together to create this beautiful illustration as a tribute to the creativity and strength women bring to our team and to the entertainment industry every day.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this piece, and to all the amazing women we have the privilege to work with!

A bit of a bittersweet moment for us today. On one side, we're really excited to share some of the environment concept art we created for Marvel’s Deadpool VR, but on the other, we're also very saddened to hear the news that one of our partner is closing their doors.

This project was a long one for us, spanning close to four years and involving around 20 people over that time. We worked closely with the team at Twisted Pixel to develop environments that would be used as production-ready references for their 3D team.

Because this is a VR title, every detail mattered. Players can get right up close to the environments, so materials, scale, prop density, all had to hold up when looked at closely. However before all techinal aspect, the goal was to make sure these spaces felt fun to explore in first person.

We’re proud of the tons of locations we helped building and grateful to be able to show a glimpse of that work. Huge thanks to Twisted Pixel for the trust and collaboration through all these years. We've had a lot of fun working on this project with you,and we wish everyone on the team the very best moving forward.
