At first glance, it can be hard to spot the differences between the Four Roots Simple Beef and The Complete K9 Ultimate Beef.

Four Roots Simple Beef was created as a value product. This means a little less lean muscle meat and higher ratio of tripe and organs. The most notable difference is that it uses a mix of beef and pork organs to help keep the cost down.

The Complete K9 Ultimate Beef is a premium, low fat beef option. It has a higher ratio of lean meat and a lower ratio of tripe and organs. It is also 100% beef products.

Both products use meat products packaged for the human grade chain (exception: tripe is not human grade) and are made in the Four Roots facility in Red Deer.

✨ Food options for all your dog's life stages ✨ Raw pet food is the bulk of our business, but it's important to us that you have options.

No two dogs or cats are the same and it's normal for there to be diet shifts through the course of your pets life. One shift might be to cooked food for a period of time.

Cooked food can be a therapeutic option for when you want to continue with a fresh food diet but need to provide your dogs with support through kidney disease or pancreatitis.

It's also an option for picky eaters who stick up their nose to raw food but you don't want to go back to regular kibble.

We are excited to share that we now have Caravan Country Cookhouse Gently Cooked Food now available in store.

Caravan is the perfect addition to our shop offering you cooked food that is AAFCO complete and balanced for all life stages.

Their blends are made with human grade ingredients and are kettle cooked in small batches at a low temperature for maximum nutrient retention.

The Complete K9 started with Don and Colleen, my parents, long before Four Roots existed. Their passion, values, and belief in doing things the right way laid the foundation for everything we do today.

While they’re no longer part of the day-to-day operations, they remain a huge part of our why. Our biggest supporters. Our sounding board. Our roots.

They’ve created a single-ingredient, freeze-dried treat line. Simple, purposeful, and made with the same integrity The Complete K9 has always stood for.

Seeing their treats on the shelves of our store feels like a full-circle moment, carrying products made by the very people who inspired this journey in the first place.
