I am now a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW)! This is a protected term under the Health Professions Act and it means I have proven my advanced clinical skill with my regulating body (the ACSW: Alberta College of Social Workers) and must maintain regular supervision and training each year. In Alberta, Social Workers are not yet required to have this designation of RCSW to provide clinical services, but I really think this is a great way to advance my profession as a whole!
